The OKHR 2012 Second Annual Ready to Work Conference & Exposition was held October 26, 2012 in Oklahoma City. The general session featured Lisa Horn, Senior Government Relations Advisor Society for Human Resources Management. Lisa examined key HR strategies for implementing flexibility as well as legal issues. Attendees learned about new resources and opportunities available as a result of SHRM's partnership with the Families and Work Institute, including the "When Work Works" initiative.

In conjunction with the Potts Family Foundation and the Society for Human Resources Management, applications for the 2013 Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Excellence in the Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility will be accepted beginning January 1, 2013.

The Sloan awards are part of When Work Works, a research-based initiative to highlight how effective and flexible workplaces can yield positive business results and help employees succeed at work and home.
