Speaker Info: Dr. Krystal Brue is the Chair of the Department of Business at Cameron University teaching courses in Human Resource Management and Organizational Leadership. She joined the university full-time eight years ago after earning her Ph.D in Business Administration. She is active in SHRM, currently serving as College Relations Chair with the SWOKHR Chapter and Western Director of the OKHR State Council. She has published HR articles in the National Business Employment Weekly, Journal of Leadership Education, and Techniques.
Description:
Interacting with people is not always easy; difficult conversations are part of the ongoing dialogue that often occurs within organizations. It is natural to want to avoid unpleasant or hard conversations hoping that the situation will resolve itself. Effective HR managers must master how to articulate the values of an organization and hold employees accountable for company expectations while navigating these sensitive conversations. This program will examine common factors associated with difficult conversations, explore effective approaches for improving interpersonal understanding, and investigate techniques aimed at balancing task and relational goals.

- Examine strategies which improve communication between employer and employee
