"The Dreaded Form I-9, or Is It?"
Overview: You might think, I know about Form I-9. But do you know everything you need to know and are you ready for an audit? Let's learn more about our responsibilities and some tricks so it is not such a dreaded subject.
Learning Objectives:
- Review the basics of completing I-9s and the use of acceptable documents
- Practice finding common mistakes and learn how to correct mistakes
- Review storing and retaining guidelines
- Awareness of fines/penalties associated with inaccurate forms and procedures
- Obtain suggestions and resources
Presenter: Marla Mann
Marla Mann is employed as an HR Coordinator for A&A Tank Truck Co. in Norman, Oklahoma. Her primary duties include interviewing employees, onboarding, benefits, and training. She currently is currently training managers and supervisors how to be better leaders.
She obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Business Education from the University of Oklahoma and a Master's of Education in Secondary Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. After teaching high school in Oklahoma's public schools for 30 years, Marla found a new niche in Human Resources.
Marla has served on the Sooner Human Resources Society Board for several years and is SHRM-CP certified. She also has a passion for serving children through South Central CASA of Oklahoma, where she has served as a CASA Advocate and currently serves on the SCCO Board.
A boxed lunch will be served.
