"They're Not Crazy, They're Human: Leading with Understanding"

Learning objectives :

1. Reframe difficult employee behavior as a form of communication, and tell the difference between understanding a behavior and excusing it.
2. Apply the Understand, Connect, Coach, Hold Accountable framework and curiosity-based questions to have more productive employee relations conversations.
3. Recognize the risks of HR cynicism and the gap between intent and impact, and use practical tools like the 10-Second Reset to set a calm emotional temperature in difficult conversations.

Presenter: Aaron Palacios

Aaron Palacios is the Director of Human Resources at Standley Systems and has more than 15 years of experience in human resources. He holds the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential and has led HR in a variety of industries, which gives him a broad perspective on how people and organizations succeed together.

Aaron believes HR professionals have a unique opportunity to help organizations grow to new heights. What keeps him passionate about the work is simple: he finds people genuinely interesting. That curiosity shapes his approach to leadership, employee relations, and building workplaces where people can do their best work.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Aaron moved to Oklahoma to attend Southwestern Christian University and has called the state home ever since. Outside of work, you’ll find him spending time with his wife and daughter and trying to improve his golf game. (It's a work in progress). 

A boxed lunch will be served for in-person attendees.

This program has been approved for 1 re-certification credit hour toward SHRM and HRCI for Professional Development credits (PDCs).
